In celebration of Celeste’s 6th anniversary, fans are treated to a nostalgic delight with the release of “Celeste 64: Fragments of the Mountain.” This indie gem, unveiled as a surprise by the official social media account, invites players to relive the magic of Celeste Mountain alongside the beloved character Madeline. Crafted in just a week, this 3D platformer pays homage to the Nintendo 64 generation and the early era of 3D platforming. This isn’t Celeste’s first venture into reimagining its gameplay. Previously, developers transformed the title into a semi-sequel for Pico-8, a virtual machine emulating 8-bit computer systems. The latest offering, “Celeste 64,” continues the trend of creative reinterpretations.

For those eager to experience the post-anniversary thrill, the game offers dialogues that unfold after the events of the original Celeste, providing a follow-up storyline. While the excitement is palpable, there’s a slight catch – “Celeste 64: Fragments of the Mountain” is currently exclusive to PC. However, the silver lining is that it’s available as a free download on itch.io, allowing fans to dive into the nostalgic world of Celeste without any cost.

Thanks to Luan for the news tip!
